Hampton Court Foodie Festival

Jam Sandwiches

First stop
Something to keep the boy happy
Something to keep the parents happy
Yumo Korean BBQ
Paella

I managed to win a couple of tickets to the Hampton Court Foodie Festival through The Evening Standard which I was giddily excited about! I love food, love to cook it, love to read about it, love to watch it on the TV – especially Come Dine With Me but we all know that’s really about Dave Lamb and not the cooking…but I don’t think I have been to a festival devoted to food before! They had celebrity chefs cooking live, a children’s cooking class, food stalls from around the world and the toilets broke in typical festival fashion!
First stop was of course the beer stand. Yummy Suffolk brewed beer (forgot the name sorry!) we had a few – probably too many. Then after walking around decided on the amazingly gorgeous Korean BBQ of which we had Skirt Beef and Seafood Omelette. Delicious but unfortunately we were too stuffed to sample any other tasty delights. Sad times really as I could have eaten off of pretty much every stall! The boy looooved the cup cakes which had pretty much equal amounts of icing as there was cake! Kept him happy so who am I to complain?
There was also a few bands but the one we saw was called Watermelon. Your typical indie band and pretty good, they were giving away their CD but I got there too late damnit! They played an awesome cover of Stereophonics Dakota which are my fav band ever so pretty chuffed to hear that. I can’t find information on them unfortunately but if you manage to find them playing somewhere, do attend.
Fab day and if you are a bit of a foodie try and check it out next time!
