Winter = Nourish nourish nourish! I have learnt a lot over the last year of blogging when it comes to skin care. I used to think that in the winter you need to use a thick cream to combat the dryness from the cold but it only made my skin feel uncomfortable and flare up. I also had it in my mind that you should spend the dollars on a moisturiser but scrimp on the cleanser. Of course I now realise cleanser's are one of the most important steps of your skincare routine and face wipes are a thing of the past.
So what products have I been reaching for in this cold snap? Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm is a beautiful product. I received a sample of this last year from Feel Unique's Beauty Box and loved it but couldn't justify the price to re-purchase. Roll on this year and it's wheedled it's way back into my skin care routine (totally worth the price btw). The perfect cleanser for this time of year and you feel like you are giving your skin a treatment every time you use it. Neals Yard Wild Rose Balm is a similar type of product. I use it in place of my night moisturiser a few times a week but as a multi purpose balm you can also use it as a cleanser or exfoliator. I wake up with perky and thoroughly nourished skin and could not recommend this enough! Don't be fooled into thinking it's going to smell of roses though!
Dr Weil for Origins - I bought them on a whim and so pleased I did. They transformed my skin when it went a bit crazy with the weather change. The serum is cooling and hydrating while the moisturiser is nourishing and rich without the thickness. Again these are most definitely not the most gorgeous smelling products but they so a wonderful job at hydrating the skin without irritating it.
Pai Kukui & Jojoba Bead Exfoliator is one of my most treasured products. It was love at first use and certainly deserves a post all to itself soon! It smooths and brightens the skin while being gentle enough for us sensitive types and I can not see me without it. Ever.
