I thought I would start up a little category called "Today's Makeup". It will be a little insight to what I slap on my face every now and then. Much the same as face of the day but er with a different title haha. I hope you guy's like it! I do have quite a few products here but as I don't wear makeup that often, I like to really cake it on...
So lets start with base. Obviously!
For primer I smoothed on Beautiful Movements Prime and Create. I am really liking this brand (founded by Kimberly from the Pussy Cat Dolls) and this is great product. I haven't used it mixed in other products yet but as a primer it works incredibly well. My foundation drawer holds a stash of samples that I like to whip out when I am in a experimental mode. Today I used Clarins Skin Illusion in shade 109 Wheat. I luffs it! Combined with the primer I am left with a semi matte finish that covers the redness really well without being too heavy. Once I've finished up the samples I think this might be a purchase. Concealer is from Collection 2000 (or Collection as they are now known) and to cover up those dark circles is Perricone MD No Concealer Concealer* which is set with Laura Mercier's Secret Brightening Powder. For a no budge base I use Beautiful Movements Finishing Powder, leaves a gorgeous finish with a touch of dewiness. I luffs this too!
For a bit of contour I used my old favourite the W7 Honolulu Bronzer and for highlight Illamasqua's Gleam in Aurora. Nestled in between those two is Nars Douceur. I brushed through the brows and lightly applied Illamasqua's Eyebrow Cake Gaze followed by Shavata's Brow Tamer* to tame the beasts.
I always prime my eyelids, I really notice the difference if I haven't and the only one that I use is Urban Decay's Primer Potion. For a base I applied 'Wind' from the Stilla In the Know palette and 'Driftwood' in the crease then headed straight over to my FashionistA custom palette. I patted on 'Brunette Bombshell' to half way and blended out. Then packed a little more into the outer corners. 'Cafe Au Lait' was used a inner corner highlight and under the brows.
Daniel Sandler's Long Lasting Eyeliner* in Velvet Brown is perfect for a touch of smokey smudginess. Add a few slicks of Givenchy's 4 in 1 Mascara on freshly curled lashes to finish the eyes off. Last but not least I used my finger to dab Illamasqua's Liable for a touch of colour but not it's bold enough to take away from the eyes.
