I have been eating a ton of prawns lately and have been trying not to cave into my craving of a tangy prawn cocktail while trying to adhere to a healthy diet. It's been hard so I thought there must be a healthier, lower fat version of the Marie Rose sauce I can rustle up.
Step in Chobani. It's a strained 0% fat yoghurt which I heard about via Gemsmaquillage. This yoghurt tastes yummy and is thick and creamy, it does the job and I can be guilt free (ish, if we forget the bread, which is wholemeal btw). I love iceberg lettuce with this but my neighbour has decided to grow enough lettuce to feed the 5000 so we're still getting through it, I know it's not traditional but I like to throw in some cherry tomatoes, I can't go by a day without tomatoes plus they are very good for you.
Ingredients for one person as a starter:
Cooked prawns, around 8
Iceberg or Cos lettuce
Chobani - 2 tablespoons
Tomato sauce - 1 teaspoon
Squeeze lemon juice
Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
Tabasco - as many drops as you can handle
Grab your lettuce and layer the bottom of the bowl, cut the cherry tomatoes in half and place around the side. Plonk the prawns in the middle and get to work on the sauce.
Pretty easy, mix all the ingredients for the sauce. The Chobani, Tomato sauce, lemon juice, Paprika, Tabasco & seasoning.
Pour the sauce over the prawns and sprinkle more paprika.
If you want to keep it really low cal you can omit the bread and butter. It's not needed but looks pretty on the side ;)
Go on admit it, I won't tell...
