MUA Smokin Palette Review & Swatches

MUA Smokin Palette Review

I knew I had to get the beauty that is the MUA’s Smokin Palette when I first saw it on British Beauty Blogger’s site. Look how frickin pretty it is! The Smokin Palette is quite clearly a dupe for the Urban Decay Smoked Palette but as I do not or ever have owned it I wouldn’t be able to compare the shades.
MUA Smokin Palette Review
For £6 you get 10 eyeshadows, 4 matte and 6 shimmer plus a black pencil eyeliner. I have always found the MUA palettes to be a great little set of shadows for the usual price of £4 but as this is a little dearer I have been anticipating what the difference in quality would be.

MUA Smokin Palette
Well I’ll start with the pigmentation of MUA’s Smokin Palette. Pretty much one swiper swatches here folks. Excellent. The pencil too is very pigmented and quite soft which I don’t find too often with these types of pencils, I really was expecting it to drag across the lid but it applied creamy and dries to a semi matte finish. The quality of the shades are quite frankly outstanding. They are super soft, perhaps a little too much as you do experience a touch of fall out but they are so smooth too the touch and apply with ease. The shimmer shades don’t transfer too shimmery on the lid (I like) but I do find all shades need building up a little more, which is a touch unusual considering how pigmented they are.
I’ve had a bit of a play with the shades from MUA’s Smokin Palette but the last few day’s I have been applying Fantasy all over the lid with Broken on the outer corner and Glory as a inner corner/brow bone highlight following the pencil to define the eyes. Without a eye primer they last around 5 hours but with, a good 8+. I actually find a primer intensifies the shades so I would suggest to wear a primer. The pencil dries quick and is smudge proof to some extent. I think I rubbed my eyes after around 5 hours forgetting I had makeup on which moved the liner around but untouched, lasts until you remove it.
Honestly I can’t find fault with this palette at all, it’s definitely schmokin’ hawt  in my eyes. The price is such a bargain and I would happily pay more for it. Best palette yet MUA. I have the new matte palette too so expect a post up on that soon..
