Sainsbury’s Do Beauty?

I little while ago I had an email informing me about Sainsbury’s lipsticks. I was like, wait, what? Sainsbury’s have a makeup line? Yes, yes they do, it’s called Boutique and is about three years old! Where have I been? They sent me a bunch from the range to try out and I now I’m a convert.

As soon as I swatched the shadows I knew this range was going to be amazing. I mean, I even liked the lip glosses and I am far from a lip gloss gal as they come. They do have crazy long names but that’s part of their charm.

The formula of the eyeshadows, bronzer and blushers are so soft and yep you guessed it, buttery smooth. All are very pigmented also. They shadows feel very creamy and glide on the lids in one sweep and blend in without looking muddy or patchy. My favourite is All That Glitters Is Not Gold, a beautiful sheeny bronzey gold and I have used the nude blush called Fool’s Paradise pretty much non-stop. The bronzer is a little too orange for me but the formula is great so I will have to see of they have any other shades.

I forgot to add the shade names in the pictures so the list is below.

Eyeshadows: all that glitters is not gold, put on the slate, a nod is as good as a wink, nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

Blush – bronzer, footloose and fancy free, happy go lucky,  fools paradise.

Lips -seal of approval, lip lip hooray, mum’s the word, lip liner .

If you are a fan of lipglosses then you will love these. They are non-sticky and show enough pigment on the lips. They don’t have a sickly sweet smell which seems like a rarity these days. The lipliner is soft enough to glide on without dragging and has good staying power. Took a good scrub to wash the swatch of from my hand.

I’m even impressed with the nail varnishes. Two coats and dries very quickly, they don’t quite last as long as my favourites from essie but I’m talking a day here. The brush is a little smaller than I prefer too but it’s not a deal breaker. The packaging is a similar style Nars and has the same problem with keeping them clean. That’s the only downside.

I wish I shopped at Sainsbury’s so I can stock up on more products! They don’t seem to have much online so it’s worth checking instore.

Have you tried any makeup from Sainsbury’s?
