It’s that time of year when MAC Rebel comes out of hibernation to grace our lips once more. After a seasonal clear out I realised I had quite a few dupes for this much-coveted lipstick and all of them being quite affordable so I thought I’d put together a little guide.
Topshop The Damned
The Damned has more of a pinky tone and appears lighter than Rebel. It has more of a sheen on the lips but it isn’t a bad dupe. If you are a fan of Topshop lipsticks then this is a goodun. I can’t find this one online but they do sometimes bring old shades back, Beguiled looks like it could be a close fit.
NYX MLS30 Aria
Aria is a matte formula and has a touch more purple to it compared to Rebel, more opaque than Topshop and has a longer wear time without any slip. It’s comfortable to wear and actually, I prefer it to Rebel.
KIKO 914 Amaranth
I find Amaranth the 2nd closest in colour to Rebel but leaves more shine to the lips. Easy to wear but I always worry about this one spreading over my face.
Makeup Revolution Rebel With Cause
The perfect match shade wise from Makeup Revolution. You really could not tell the different in the swatch. However, on the lips, it does apply a little lighter than Rebel. It’s not the longest lasting lipstick of the bunch but for £1 you can’t go wrong.
Do you own any great dupes?
